SMS Terms and Consent

1) Consent to Receive Text Messages

By providing your phone number and checking the SMS consent checkbox during phone verification, you expressly consent to receive text messages from VMProperty (operated by Datacycle Technologies, LLC) at the phone number you provide. Your consent is not a condition of purchase or use of our services, though certain features (like phone verification) require SMS messaging.

You are opting in to receive the following types of text messages:

  • Account verification codes
  • Invoice reminders and notifications
  • Payment confirmations and receipts
  • Late charge notices
  • Property maintenance notifications
  • Account security alerts

2) Types of Messages You Will Receive

Verification Messages

One-time passcodes (OTP) sent when you verify your phone number or perform security-sensitive actions.

Example: "Your VMProperty verification code is: 123456. This code expires in 10 minutes. Do not share this code with anyone."

Invoice and Payment Messages

Notifications about invoices, due dates, and payment confirmations.

Example: "VMProperty: Your invoice #1234 for $1,500.00 is due on 12/15. View and pay at vmproperty.org"

Example: "VMProperty: Payment of $1,500.00 received for invoice #1234. Thank you!"

Late Charge Notices

Alerts when late fees are applied to overdue invoices.

Example: "VMProperty: A late fee of $50.00 has been applied to invoice #1234. Pay now to avoid additional charges."

Property Maintenance Notifications

Updates about maintenance requests, scheduled work, or property-related alerts.

Example: "VMProperty: Maintenance scheduled for Unit 101 on 12/20 between 9am-12pm."

Account Security Alerts

Notifications about account activity, password changes, or security concerns.

Example: "VMProperty: Your password was recently changed. If this wasn't you, contact support immediately."

3) Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your account activity and settings. You may receive:

  • Verification codes: Only when you initiate phone verification or security actions
  • Invoice reminders: Based on your billing cycle and payment status
  • Payment confirmations: Each time a payment is processed
  • Late charge notices: When applicable fees are assessed
  • Maintenance notifications: As needed for your properties
  • Security alerts: When security-related events occur

You will not receive marketing or promotional text messages unless you separately opt in to such communications.

4) Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's standard messaging rates will apply to any messages you receive from VMProperty. Please contact your wireless carrier for details about your messaging plan.

5) How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving text messages at any time by:

  • Replying STOP, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any text message from VMProperty
  • Disabling SMS notifications in your account settings at vmproperty.org
  • Removing your phone number from your profile settings

After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message confirming your opt-out. You will no longer receive SMS messages from VMProperty except as required by law. Note that opting out of SMS will not affect your ability to receive email or in-app notifications.

Important: If you opt out of SMS messages, you will need to use email or in-app methods for account verification and will not receive time-sensitive notifications via text.

7) Privacy

Your phone number and SMS communications are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We use your phone number solely to:

  • Send the message types described in these SMS Terms
  • Verify your identity and secure your account
  • Provide transactional notifications related to your use of VMProperty

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your phone number may be shared with our SMS service provider (Twilio) solely for the purpose of delivering messages.

8) Supported Carriers

VMProperty SMS messaging is supported on most major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and others. Carrier support may vary and is not guaranteed.

9) Changes to These SMS Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated terms on our website and updating the "Effective" date. Your continued use of SMS features after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
